The Rajasthan Royals have swayed CSK away from the guilt on Ravindra Jadeja's release, as the RR owner Manoj Badale has revealed that Ravindra Jadeja was himself excited about joining the Royals, a franchise where he started his IPL career back in 2008.

Ravindra Jadeja has been one of those players who have featured in the IPL since the very first inaugural season in the history of the tournament.

He was picked by the Rajasthan Royals in the very first edition of the IPL and was often referred to as the 'rockstar' by the former title-winning RR skipper Shane Warne.

Currently, Jadeja is playing for India in the longest format of the game against South Africa. He has announced his retirement from T20 internationals and has played for four franchises in his IPL career.

Ravindra Jadeja's return to the Rajasthan Royals was a mutual decision between Jaddu and CSK

Going back to the starting days in the IPL as a young cricketer, Ravindra Jadeja started off as a 20-year-old all-rounder for the Rajasthan Royals back in 2008 and played a major role in their title triumph.

He left the franchise and joined the Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011, and was bought for a whopping price in the IPL 2012 mega-auction by the then two-time champions, CSK. After a decade-long service in the CSK den, he returned to the Rajasthan Royals on the 15th of November.

The decision to part ways with Jadeja was met with some criticism of the CSK management. However, first the CSK CEO and now the Rajasthan Royals owner have both revealed that it was a mutual decision and was made with Jadeja's willingness.

Manoj Badale makes a massive revelation about Ravindra Jadeja's trade

The Rajasthan Royals owner, Manoj Badale, revealed that Ravindra Jadeja had himself reached out to him a month ago and had shown interest in returning to the franchise. He made a name for himself with the Royals before becoming an international star with the Indian team.

"Jaddu reached out to me about four weeks ago, around mid-October, saying he was excited about the possibility of coming ‘home,’ as he described it—back to where he started his IPL career, and really where his cricketing journey and visibility across India began."

"Over the past few weeks, we’ve had several exchanges. The last time I saw him, he was 21, so it’s been fascinating getting to know the older version of Ravi Jadeja," Badale told RR's YouTube channel.

He further added that everyone should not forget about Sam Curran and tipped that the duo will collectively fill in a few roles for the side.

"I want to be clear: it wasn’t a trade for Jadeja alone. It was a trade for Jadeja and Sam Curran. We must not forget that other component. The combination of the two and how they collectively fill three or four roles we need for the next season—that’s what made it compelling," added Badale.

Jadeja's record for his former franchise Rajasthan Royals

Ravindra Jadeja flaunts an exceptional record in the IPL, though most of it came from playing for CSK. He has scored a total of 3260 runs in over 250+ matches in the IPL and has averaged 27.86 with a strike rate of 130. With 109 catches, the stunning all-rounder has also picked 170 wickets in his career.

Playing for the Rajasthan Royals as well, he has played 27 matches over two seasons and has gone on to score 430 runs in the Royals setup. He also picked 6 wickets for them, though he did not have many opportunities with the ball. He is likely to emerge as RR's new option for leadership as well.
