Chennai Super Kings takes on Gujarat Titans in the reverse fixture in Ahmedabad on Friday, May 10. Both teams have three games remaining and the season has entered that phase where every game is a must-win game for all the teams.
CSK ended their losing streak against Punjab Kings as they came back to winning ways in the IPL. The crucial win took them to the top four of the points table and forced LSG to move out of the top four.
Sunrisers Hyderabad after their previous loss to Mumbai Indians are just hanging by a thread inside the top four. A win for CSK against GT in the next game will take them a step closer to the playoffs.
CSK have a few concerns heading into this game, especially in the bowling department. With Deepak Chahar ruled out for the remainder of the tournament and Matheesha Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman unavailable for the remaining part, they need to consider and weigh in their options.

Ajinkya Rahane
Rahane will continue to open the batting for CSk. He has struggled big time this season having scored just 208 runs at an average of 20. He is yet to score a fifty this season.
Ruturaj Gaikwad (C)
Gaikwad will open the batting with Rahane. The CSK skipper has been the batting mainstay for his side scoring 541 runs in 11 games at an average of 60.11. He holds the key in the remaining games.
Daryl Mitchell
Mitchell will slot in at three. he scored 30 off 19 balls against PBKS. He has scored 229 runs at an average of 28.63 and a strike rate of just over 130.
Shivam Dube
Dube will slot in at four. He was dismissed cheaply against spin in the last two games against PBKS. He fell to spin and was dismissed in the very first ball in the last two games.
Ravindra Jadeja
Jadeja will bat at five. He has been promoted with the bat this year. He scored 45 off 26 balls against Punjab Kings and took three wickets.
Moeen Ali
The England all-rounder will slot in at six. He scored 17 off 20 balls this season. He has not been used too much with either bat or ball this season.
Mitchell Santner
He played his first game this year in the IPL against Punjab Kings. CSK have tried with his spin with Pathirana and the Fizz missing.
MS Dhoni (WK)
MS Dhoni will slot in at eight. He has averaged 55 with the bat scoring 110 runs in nine innings. There are reports that he has a muscle tear which is why he is batting down in the batting order as he cannot run hard between the wickets due to his injury.
Tushar Deshpande
Deshpande will be one of the two Indian seamers in the lineup. He took 2/35 in the last game and has taken 12 wickets in 10 games this season. He took 21 wickets last season.
Simarjeet Singh
Simarjeet played his first game of the IPL this season in the last game. He picked up 2/16 and bowled with pace and was the surprising element in the bowling attack.
Richard Gleeson
Gleeson will conclude the likely XI for CSK against GT. He was called in as a replacement for Devon Conway this season. He was expensive in the last game though.
Impact Sub- Shardul Thakur
Shardul has been used as the Impact Sub by CSK in the last few games and will use him in that role going forward. He bowled just two overs and picked up a wicket.
