David Warner and Mitchell Johnson are set for a classic face-off amid boiling tension between the two cricketers. The two Australian cricketers turned from friends to foe after Johnson started taking personal digs at Warner after Cricket Australia decided to grant Warner a farewell series.

As per reports, David Warner is set to retire from Test cricket after playing the SCG Test against Pakistan. Johnson meanwhile, spoke about Warner’s involvement in the sandpapergate scandal in the Cape Town Test against South Africa in 2018. Warner along with Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft were banned by the ICC for a substantial period of time. While Smith and Warner were banned for 12 months, Bancroft was banned for nine months.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Johnson has revealed his availability as a commentator for the first Test in Perth from December 14-18. Thus, the two Australian cricketers are more than likely to face off each other and the result of the same keeps the fans excited with anticipation.

The Daily Mail in a report has confirmed that Johnson, who was removed by Triple M broadcast, will be a part of the commentary box for the first Test between Australia and Pakistan. Meanwhile, fans are surprised after knowing the differences between the two Australian cricketers. Johnson reportedly received a ‘pretty bad’ message from Warner which was ‘pretty personal’. Johnson asserted that the basis for his criticism of Warner originated from a text message he received in April, following another article he had written.

I Always Questioned Things And Had A Different Thought Process: Mitchell Johnson On David Warner

“It sort of feels like it ties in. The selectors have talked about picking guys on form. If you look at David’s form, because the article is about him. His form in England wasn’t great. So you sort of go that’s not picking someone on form. I’ve written good articles about David as well. I’ve always said that I’m a very different thinker. I’m not a traditional cricket player. I didn’t play a lot at a young age. I didn’t grow up with it as much as others. Always questioned things and had a different thought process,” said Johnson on Warner.

While Jonhson retired from international cricket in August 2018, Warner is still going strong having been part of the World Cup-winning Australian squad in ICC World Cup 2023.
