David Warner SRH

Former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner recently revealed that the franchise had blocked him on Instagram.

Warner put up a story on the image-sharing platform where the franchise's official account was unavailable to him. Warner also responded to a comment from a fan regarding the issue.

They would never unblock me- David Warner

In a now viral image, Warner posted a screenshot of a profile with the username sunrisershyd, which had appeared to block him. In his story, he asked if this was the official account of the franchise.

In another incident, Warner replied to a fan's comment asking the franchise to unblock him. "@sunrisershyd, please unblock our captain, Warner," a fan wrote in the comments. Warner replied to that comment, saying, "They would never unblock me."

David Warner for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL

Warner originally joined SRH in 2014 and immediately had an impact. In his first year with the team, he finished as their highest run-scorer with 528 runs. In 2015, he was promoted to captain. While SRH didn't make the playoffs, Warner ended up with the Orange Cap. The next year, Warner took SRH to their crowning glory.

In 2016, David Warner made 848 runs in a single season of the IPL and was the captain for what has been SRH's only IPL trophy to date. In 2017, SRH once again finished in the playoffs, and Warner took home the Orange Cap.

Warner missed IPL 2018 because he was banned for his involvement in Australia's ball-tampering scandal that year. When he returned in 2019, he was not the captain, but still managed 692 runs in just 12 matches and became the only batter to win the Orange Cap thrice.

In 2020, he was given the armband back and once again took SRH to the playoffs. Once again, he was SRH's highest run-scorer that year. Between 2014 and 2020, Warner was SRH's highest run-scorer in every single IPL season that he played, and breached the 500-run mark in every season as well.

Overall, David Warner made 4,014 runs for SRH in 95 matches at an average of 49.5 and a strike rate of 143. He also made 40 fifties and 2 centuries for the franchise. He is also the only player to make even 3,000 runs for the team.

David Warner falls out with SRH

The grand fallout between the two happened in 2021. Both Warner and the team were going through some bad form, and Warner made some disparaging comments toward the team owners.

After a loss, Warner seemed to suggest that the owners were meddling in team selection when asked why a certain player was selected. This did not go down well with the owners as expected.

When the tournament returned from being suspended mid-way, Warner was stripped of the captaincy and ultimately dropped from the captaincy altogether. After that season, Warner parted ways with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In 2022, he returned to the Delhi Capitals, his first IPL team, and the one he had played for before SRH.
