Delhi Capitals

DC's win over Rajasthan Royals brought them back into the IPL 2024 playoffs race. They then won their previous game against RCB to get to 14 points and managed to take them until their last league game to give themselves a chance to finish with 16 points.

Pant who was banned for a match for his team maintaining a slow over-rate will make a comeback to the team. DC will be playing at home which will give them immense confidence heading into this game of doing the double-over LSG who are not in great form at the moment.

DC Squad

Rishabh Pant (c), Pravin Dubey, David Warner, Vicky Ostwal, Prithvi Shaw, Anrich Nortje, Abishek Porel, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Lalit Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Mitchell Marsh, Ishant Sharma, Yash Dhull, Mukesh Kumar, Tristan Stubbs, Ricky Bhui, Kumar Kushagra, Rasikh Dar, Jhye Richardson, Sumit Kumar, Shai Hope, Swastik Chhikara, Lizaad Williams

Lucknow Super Giants

LSG are playing this match after a five-day break since their loss to SRH. A lot happened in between the previous game and this game. The taking point has been the LSG owner's viral animated conversation with the team skipper KL Raul. There are reports that he might not play the last two games and will also not lead the side.

The atmosphere within the team is also not very positive after the loss. The players and the management were taken aback by SRH's assault on the LSG bowlers. The team will need to play out of their skins to make a comeback in the last two games.

LSG Squad

KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Kyle Mayers, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Devdutt Padikkal, Ravi Bishnoi, Naveen-ul-Haq, Krunal Pandya, Yudhvir Singh, Prerak Mankad, Yash Thakur, Amit Mishra, Shamar Joseph, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, K. Gowtham, Arshin Kulkarni, M. Siddharth, Ashton Turner, Matt Henry, Mohd. Arshad Khan

DC vs LSG Key Battles

Jake Fraser McGurk vs Naveen-Ul-Haq

The young Aussie opener has been decimating the bowlers all around the park. He will face up against Naveen who has very cleverly varied his pace and managed to restrict the opposition batters from hitting him big.

Nicholas Pooran vs Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep dismissed Pooran in the previous game played in Lucknow. His dismissal turned the game in DC's favor in the last match. Yet again, he will face up against Pooran and will have his plans ready.

Marcus Stoinis vs Rasikh Salam

Salam has been very clever in varying his pace against the big hitters and the DC pacer will need to do the same against the LSG all-rounder who has been one of their batting mainstays this season alongside KL Rahul.

DC vs LSG Key Players

For DC, Fraser McGurk, Rishabh Pant, and Tristan Stubbs will be the key with the bat with uncertainty over David Warner. With the ball, the spin twins hold the key in Delhi.

For LSG, with KL Rahul unlikely to play, Quinton De Kock, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran hold the key with the bat. With the ball, the onus will be on the spinners Ravi Bishnoi, and Krishnappa Gowtham, and Lucknow can very well use Amit Mishra as the Impact Sub in this game.

DC vs LSG Weather and Pitch Report

Weather conditions will be hot and humid during the daytime and will drop down to around 30 degrees in the evening. There will be clear skies and no chance of rain and we can have a full game of 40 overs.

Speaking about the pitch, so far the Arun Jaitley Stadium has produced high-scoring contests and this is expected to be another high-scoring match with smaller ground dimensions.

Conclusion

This is a must-win game for both teams. The winner of this match will stay alive in the race to the playoffs while the campaign might well come to an end for the team that loses the match. Both teams need to win buy a big margin to improve on their NRR.
