Sandeep Sharma, on Tuesday (May 7), showed remarkable awareness and athleticism to run out Shai Hope in the ongoing game between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Royals needed a couple of breakthroughs to get back into the game after Jake Fraser-McGurk gave the hosts a flying start. Sanju Samson's decision to bowl first backfired as Fraser-McGurk smashed a 19-ball fifty for his team. At the end of the fourth over, DC had raced away to 59 for no loss with Fraser-McGurk scoring 50 of those runs.

In the fifth over, the Royals finally had their first breakthrough when Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Fraser-McGurk on his second delivery. DC were still on top before Sandeep Sharma dismissed Shai Hope for 1 in the sixth over.

On the first ball of the sixth over, Shai Hope was standing at the non-striker's end. Sharma's delivery was hit straight back towards him by Abishek Porel and he did well to direct the ball towards the stump. Hope was well out of the crease as he was caught off guard by Sharma's quick reflexes. The West Indies star failed to get back inside the crease quickly and had to depart after facing just 1 ball.

The Delhi-based outfit will be desperate to return to winning ways against the Royals to revive their playoffs chances. They are currently at the sixth spot in the points table with five wins and six losses. On the other hand, the Royals are at the second spot with eight wins and two losses.
