Sanju Samson's bad luck in international cricket continued as he was out for a duck in the ongoing third T20I between India and Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

The right-handed batsman recently grabbed the limelight after being ignored for the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka. Even though he had scored a fine century against South Africa in India's last ODI assignment, the selectors and the team management decided against picking him in the squad for the forthcoming series.

The decision did not go down well with many as fans and a number of former cricketers threw their support behind Sanju Samson. The wicketkeeper-batsman was picked in the T20I team for the ongoing series and had the opportunity to prove his critics wrong.

He did not get a chance in the playing eleven for the first T20I but was included in the team for the second one. Not only that, the team management also gave him the opportunity to open the innings. However, the Kerala star failed to make the chance count as he was clean-bowled by Maheesh Theekshana for a golden duck.

He managed to retain his position in the team for the ongoing third T20I and the team management also gave him the chance to bat at his preferred number three position. However, Sanju Samson squandered the latest opportunity too as he registered another duck. He was dismissed by Chamindu Wickramasinghe for a four-ball duck.

Here are some of the reactions to Sanju Samson's latest failure with the bat:

Talking about the game, India are in all sorts of trouble after Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first. At the time of writing this report, the Men in Blue were reeling at 30 for 4 in the sixth over. Theekshana gave Sri Lanka the first breakthrough by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second over before Samson departed in the third.

India then went on to lose the wickets of Rinku Singh and captain Suryakumar Yadav as well inside the powerplay. India have already clinched the three-match series by winning the first two games.
