Dinesh Lad Recommended For Dronacharya Award By Rohit Sharma And Shardul Thakur
Indian team players Rohit Sharma and Shardul Thakur have recommended the name of their coach, Dinesh Lad, for the Dronacharya Award.
The award is given as a recognition of the work done by a sports or games coach. The Dronacharya award was created in honor of the character from Mahabharata, Dronacharya. He was the teacher of the Kauravas and the Pandavas.
The nominations for the award will be accepted till the end of April. A 10-member committee will then consider the nominations and come to a decision. They will then proceed to recommend the chosen people to the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports which will finalize the candidates.

Dinesh Lad was responsible for the development of Rohit and Shardul, whom he enrolled in the Swami Vivekanand International School in Gorai, Borivali, in the western suburb of Mumbai.
Lad is quite famous amongst the cricketing fraternity, well-known for his passion and love for the game. He has coached plenty of budding youngsters, and many have made it to the Mumbai team, including his son, Siddharth Lad.
As for Rohit and Shardul, the duo made it to the Indian national team. They are now regular members for the side in all three formats. Rohit is also the vice-captain of the Indian team and is one of India’s best white-ball batsmen along with Virat Kohli.
