"Don't Watch Cricket, Didn't Recognise Him" - Bus Driver On Rishabh Pant

Indian Cricket Team’s dashing wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant had a horrifying accident. Pant was apparently in the Mercedes SUV where he dozed off for a moment and then the car crashed into the divider. The left-handed batter has been admitted to the hospital where he is out of danger, but put under observation.

Pant was heading to his hometown Roorkee when the incident took place. Pant has a lot of cuts and injuries on his body. The batter has been an integral part of the Indian Cricket Team over the past couple of years and the fans would be praying for his better health.

Bus Driver on Rishabh Pant

Sushil Mann, the bus driver was seen interacting with NDTV and was asked about the accident. “I put my bus on the side and quickly ran towards the divider. I thought the car would flip under the bus as it was turning over and over before it stopped. The driver (Mr Pant) was half out of the window. He told me he’s a cricketer,” said Sushil Mann.

“I don’t watch cricket and I didn’t know this is Rishabh Pant is. But others in my bus recognized him. After removing Rishabh, I quickly searched the car to check if anyone else was there. I took out his blue bag and ₹ 7,000-Rs 8,000 rupees from the car and gave it to him in the ambulance,” he added.

It’s A Huge Blow For India

It is reported that Rishabh Pant will have to undergo surgery. The left-handed batter has been a force to reckon with as he is someone who can surprise the opposition with his brisk stroke-play. The cricketer had started to peak, especially in red-ball cricket where he was looking unstoppable.

With the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 scheduled in February, it would be interesting to see whether the wicketkeeper would be fit. Head Coach Rahul Dravid would be well aware of the fact that Pant has a terrific record against the Aussies.
