The 5th and final Test match between India and England is all set to begin today ( September 10) at Old Trafford, Manchester after the RT-PCR tests of all the Indian players, who were in close contact with junior physio Yogesh Parmer has been found negative.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that a senior player of the team did not want to take the field on Friday, September 10. Notably, Yogesh Parmer tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday, after that many questions were raised on whether the 5th match will be commenced or not.

Meanwhile, with the reports coming negative of all the 21 players the probability of the 5th match taking place increased. According to the PTI report, a senior member of the team has raised concerns about the situation turning bad if players get tested positive on match days.

However, the ECB chairman Tom Harrison is trying to have a talk with the senior player and address his concerns. Other than one high-profile player all the other members of the team are in favor of the match get started.

If nothing gets sorted between the player and the board and if the player’s family wants him to withdraw, then The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will simply rest the player for that match.

The Indian squad is already struggling with the Covid-19 as their main staff group including head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Shrishar, were found positive for Covid-19 and they did not travel with the team to London for the final Test. The only senior staff with the Indian team present at the moment is Batting coach Vikram Rathour.

The same report further claims that if the Test match begins, then star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, having bowled 151 overs, will be given rest in the last game and Mohammed Shami will be provided Bumrah’s slot in playing XI.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja is suffering from a leg strain and he also might be rested which will eventually lead to Ravichandran Ashwin finally getting a chance in playing XI. Meanwhile, If the senior player is not willing to play the 5th Test then Suryakumar Yadav or Hanuma Vihari might get a chance in playing XI.
