England and Pakistan face off in a limited-overs international series comprising of three ODIs and as many T20Is. The sides will play six games in a space of 12 days between July 8-20. This is Pakistan’s second visit to the UK in 12 months. They last toured England between July-September 2020 for a limited-overs series which they lost.
The ODI series is a part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League which acts as a qualification scenario for the 2023 World Cup. England are topping the table with 65 points while Pakistan placed third with 40 points.
This is their chance to better their record in England. They have won 16 out of the 48 ODIs which they have played in England and lost 30 games. Two games ended in no result. The Men in Green have lost four out of their last five ODIs against the World Champions.
With a few of England’s key players missing from the series, this is Pakistan’s chance to hurt England at home. However, the side is filled with confidence after their series wins in ODIs and T20Is over Sri Lanka. They have given confidence to the players and announced an unchanged squad for the ODI series.
