Full list of players to be retained by Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2025 auction

Delhi Capitals have been a strong team in Indian Premier League tournaments for the last four seasons but have not been able to reach the final or win the title. Ahead of IPL 2025, Delhi Capitals will be all set to form a strong squad for the next season with IPL 2025 auction.

Last season in IPL 2024, DC gave a decent show but could not reach the playoffs. Winning 7 games and losing 7 out of 14, the Rishabh Pant-led side finished in the 6th spot with 14 points. DC gave their best show in the IPL 2020 season when they ended as runners-up.

The 2020 finalists DC also finished in third place later in some season. However, in IPL 2025, they will aim for their first title and need to make many changes to the squad due to the mega auction. 3. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is the first player Delhi Capitals will retain in their squad. The wicketkeeper-batsman is the skipper of the side and has led the side for the last few seasons.

Pant has also shown a rocking performance in IPL over the years. He returned to the side in IPL 2024 after recovering from a car accident. With 446 runs in 13 games averaging 40+ and 155+ strike rates, Pant showcased his might with the bat.

Also, he smacked 3 half-centuries in the season with a top knock of unbeaten 88. The DC skipper fulfills the demands of both skipper and wicketkeeper and there is no reason why Delhi should drop him for the side for IPL 2025.

2. Axar Patel

Axar Patel is the second player Delhi Capitals would retain in their squad. The left-arm spinner is one of the key members of the side who has also done a marvelous job for the last few years. With his batting, he can smack big boundaries and lead the team to victories.

With his left-arm off-spin, he can overpower batters. Also, Patel is now a crucial member of the Indian team who was also part of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 winning team. Hence, Delhi Capitals will retain him for IPL 2025 for sure.

1. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav is the third member on this list. The left-arm spinner is the most dominant and regular spinner for the Indian Team in all three formats. Yadav picked 4-wicket hauls on four occasions in his debut season for Delhi Capitals.

In IPL 2024, the chinaman spinner grabbed 16 wickets in 11 games at 23+ average and 8.69 economy. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in the season for DC but played 3 matches less than other bowlers. He is a dangerous spinner and DC cannot risk benching him any game.
