Gus Atkinson Bought By KKR For 1 Crore In IPL Auction 2024

Kolkata Knight Riders, on Tuesday (December 19), signed up England fast-bowler Gus Atkinson in the recently concluded IPL auction 2024. The right-arm pacer had registered himself at a base price of Rs 1 crore. He went unsold in the first round before Kolkata Knight Riders secured his services at his base price in the accelerated auction. Gus Atkinson is yet to play in the IPL and will be hoping to enjoy a memorable debut season next year.

Earlier this year, he made his T20I and ODI debut for England during the home series against New Zealand. So far, he has played 9 ODIs and 3 T20Is and has picked up a total of 17 wickets. Overall, he has played 46 T20s so far and has taken 62 wickets.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders have bought a total of 10 players in the auction. Earlier in the auction, they made Mitchell Starc the most expensive player of all time by signing him up for a staggering amount of Rs 24.75 crores. Apart from Gus Atkinson and Starc, the two-time IPL champions have also signed up – KS Bharat, Chetan Sakariya, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Ramandeep Singh, Sherfane Rutherford, Manish Pandey, Mujeeb Rahman and Sakib Hussain.
