India defeated New Zealand in a must-win group match and advanced to the semi-finals. In the knockout clash, Jemimah Rodrigues produced one of the greatest innings in Women’s ODI history. She scored an unbeaten 127 that guided India to the highest successful run chase ever in the format.

Amol Muzumdar described the World Cup triumph as a “watershed moment”. The head coach admitted he was overwhelmed with pride. Muzumdar, who has been in charge since 2023, noted that India had controlled most games throughout the tournament.

“I’m speechless. Absolutely proud. They deserve every bit of this moment. The hard work, the belief — they’ve made every Indian proud," the Indian head coach was quoted as saying after the match.

“We never let early setbacks define us. We dominated most matches but just needed to finish better. Once we did that, there was no looking back," he added.

Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma delivered standout performances in the final. Shafali secured the Player of the Match award, while Deepti won the Player of the Tournament for her consistent performances throughout the tournament.
