Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is recognized as one of the game’s all-time great batters. The most runs scored in ODIs and Tests, as well as the most international hundreds (100), are all held by Tendulkar.
Tendulkar had legitimate rivalries with some of the greatest bowlers of his era during his 24-year international career; one of them was Wasim Akram, a former Pakistani captain, and renowned left-arm quick.

“I’d never encountered anyone like Wasim Akram”: Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar commented on Akram’s extraordinary ball skills, saying that a bowler of such caliber “lifts your game” and that Akram “made the ball talk.”
“Cricket is a team sport, but everything goes back to the rivalry of batter and bowler, and in Wasim Akram, every batter had a wonderful rival – when you play against someone of that caliber, it lifts your game as well, and the experience stays with you forever. Wasim was a master. He made the ball talk,” Sachin Tendulkar wrote in Akram’s book.

“His run-up was so natural. He didn’t need to measure his steps like other fast bowlers; he could start from any place and be just as effective. He rushed through the crease, leaving you barely enough time to position yourself up. When I first faced him, I’d never encountered anyone like Wasim. I recall every game we played against each other. And every time we meet now, it is in warm camaraderie,” Sachin Tendulkar added.
In Tests, the former left-arm pacer ended a stellar career with 414 wickets to his name in 106 games.
