'Hurt' Ahmed Shehzad strictly orders Pakistan team to watch 'Lagaan' for motivation

Former Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shehzad lashed out at the Shan Masood-led side for their poor performance with the bat and ball in the first Test against the England National Cricket Team. He urged the team to take inspiration from the Lagaan movie.
Pakistan National Cricket Team have come to a massive scanner after their horrendous outing in the first game of the series against the England National Cricket Team. The Shan Masood-led side faced a thrashing innings and 47-run loss at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.
The Shan Masood-led side were humiliated by the England National Cricket Team. This was because even after posting a mammoth total of 556 runs on the board, they went to face an innings defeat. This was the first time in the history of Test cricket that a team faced innings defeat after posting 500 runs.
Pakistan ended the first innings with 556 runs
The hosts opted to bat first and it was a great start for them with the bat. Opening batter Abdullah Shafique (102) racked up a terrific century and was matched by skipper Shan Masood, who came up with a humongous effort, slamming 151 runs with the bat while batting at No.3.
After that in the middle, vice-captain Saud Shakeel played a vital innings as well. The Southpaw played a decent hand of 82 runs before Salman Ali Agha came up with a stellar effort. He scored an unbeaten 104 tuns that powered them to a massive total of 556 runs in the first innings.
Harry Brook and Joe Root made Pakistan bowler struggle
After that, nothing went in the hosts' way as they struggled with the ball big time. They failed to put pressure on the batters as the English men came up with a double better effort than the Pakistan batters and posted a huge total on the board in response to 556 runs.
England batted positively and with an aggressive mindset. Harry Brook (317) and Joe Root (262) came up with humongous efforts with the bat. They posted a total of 823 runs on the board and took a lead of over 200 runs in the first innings putting the opposition on the backfoot.
England then made sure they came up with the plans with the ball and they executed their plans to perfection. All the bowlers came up with the vital effort and picked wickets at regular intervals. They bundled out the opposition for 220 runs and won the game by a margin of innings and 47 runs.

With Pakistan facing a horrible loss in the first Test against the England National Cricket Team, Ahmed Shehzad didn't go easy on the team. He said that the team should watch the Lagaan movie for motivation. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:
"For motivation, I suggest the Pakistan team should watch the Lagaan movie. The issue is that in the movie they had to pay it from their pockets. But you don't have to do this, Pakistan Cricket Board has to do it."
England would be keen to carry on the confidence in the second game. The match will be played from15th October at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.
