Shahid Afridi replaced Ramiz as interim chief selector after the selection committee under his leadership was also fired. Former cricketers Abdul Razzaq and Rao Iftikhar Anjum were also added to the panel. Ramiz Raja has given numerous public interviews after being fired, however, in which he has discussed the “unfair” decision to fire him.
The Pakistan Cricket Board earlier threatened to sue Ramiz Raja after the former chairman and the board’s new management committee got into an argument over his abrupt resignation.

“You can’t get a bullet-proof car until you face a death threat”: Ramiz Raja
Ramiz Raja said that he had received death threats and was now driving a bullet-proof automobile to travel throughout the nation during one such interview with Samaa TV. Ramiz Raja made a significant assertion regarding his term as chairman. When questioned about the car that cost 1.65 crores (Pakistan Rupees) during his stint in PCB, Ramiz revealed the information.
“That car is with PCB. I didn’t buy that. My successor can also use it. I received a death threat. You can’t get a bullet-proof car until you face a death threat. That’s why I had it,” Ramiz told the journalist.
“I can’t reveal the details about it (the threat). But it has been there since Australia came to Pakistan in March 2022. DIG Sahab came to my home, there was a whole report that was made. That’s why I bought it,” said the former PCB chairman.
