In what has been the latest development, as per the reports in Sports Tak, it is learned that there is uncertainty over the place of Hardik Pandya in the Indian ODI Team. The all-rounder might not be part of the Indian team for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The senior journalist Vikrant Gupta said that a high-profile source in Indian cricket informed him that Hardik Pandya is uncertain in the ODI team.

This might come as a massive development, especially with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 around the corner. The tournament will be played between 19th February to 9th March.

Hardik Pandya has been a valuable asset for India in white-ball cricket

Pandya has been a valuable asset for the India National Cricket Team. Due to injury issues, he has been away from Test cricket but has been a key player for the team in the ODIs as well as the T20Is. He has been consistently performing for the team with bat and ball.

It's fair to say that Pandya's best comes in T20Is as he is the MVP of the team in the format. On the other hand, he has been a decent contributor for the team in the ODIs as well but hasn't played much 50-over cricket as he played the shortest format of the game.

Hardik Pandya's last ODI outing came during the ICC World Cup 2023

Pandya's last ODI outing came during the ICC World Cup 2023. However, in the middle of the tournament, he got injured and was ruled out. After that, he hasn't played a single game in the format for India and also opted out of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka due to personal reasons while he played T20Is during the same tour.

Pandya has been a regular in the T20 setup as he also played for Baroda in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25. However, he didn't feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 for all the games. The all-rounder just played a few games and then opted out with no clarity over him.

Hardik Pandya is to be seen in action during the five-match T20I series against England

Pandya will now be seen in action during the five-match T20I series against the England National Cricket Team. The all-rounder will be playing under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel, who was appointed as the vice-captain of the team in the format.

The Indian squad for the ODI series against the England National Cricket Team and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is yet to be announced. With reports emerging that the all-rounder is uncertain about the 50-format, there can be chances that he won't be part of the team in the format.

Also, with the emergence of Nitish Kumar Reddy, the India National Cricket Team have a cushion if Hardik Pandya doesn't play. The former played a massive role for the team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and it won't be a surprise if he gets included in the ODI team as well.
