The International Cricket Council (ICC) has cancelled their meeting related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per the reports in Pakistan media, it is learned that the meeting has been postponed to 7th December (Saturday).

The International Cricket Council (ICC) was all set to host a meeting on Thursday (5th December) related to the issues surrounding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The meeting was slated to take place at 3.30 PM UAE time (5 PM IST), and newly appointed chairman Jay Shah was all set to be at the helm of things.

However, minutes ahead of the meeting, the International Cricket Council (ICC) postponed it. This means that it will take some more days to reach the conclusion related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is all set to take place in February-March next year.

ICC meeting was postponed by Jay Shah after BCCI fails to submit a reply to the proposal of PCB

The reports claimed that the ICC postponed the meeting because the call was taken by newly appointed ICC Chairman Jay Shah. This is because BCCI failed to submit a reply to the proposal of PCB despite the given time of almost one week.

With the meeting now set to take place on 7th December, it is now expected that the final decision related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be taken on that day. So far, there hasn't been any official confirmation, but it is likely the conclusion related to the tournament is likely to come that day.

Earlier, it was reported that during the meeting of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the International Cricket Council (ICC) was all set to accept the hybrid model. It was reported that the majority of the participating nations had agreed to play the tournament in that format.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) likely to say yes to hybrid model for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Even the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who was against the hybrid model, reportedly has agreed to play the tournament in that format. The UAE has emerged as the prime venue for all the league games of India and two knockout games - one semifinal and one final.

The Pakistan Cricket Board, as per the reports, kept four demands for accepting the hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. However, most of them are all set to be rejected by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as they don't see any reason to accept those demands.

PCB demanded all the ICC events in India to be staged in a hybrid model till 2031

PCB demanded all the ICC events in India to be staged in a hybrid model till 2031. Also, they demanded a tri-series involving them, India and a third country at a neutral venue, most likely UAE. But ICC and the BCCI don't seem to be okay with the idea, and the proposal is all set to be rejected.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to be played next year. This will be the first time that the tournament will be played after 2017. All the eight teams would want to make an impact and lift the prestigious Trophy.
