IND vs BAN: Fans React To India's Loss Against Bangladesh In Colombo Before Asia Cup 2023 Final

Bangladesh beat India by 6 runs in the final Super 4 game of Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo on Friday. However, the result was inconsequential as the Tigers were already knocked out of the tournament. Meanwhile, India will now look forward to the final against Sri Lanka on Sunday, September 17.
Bangladesh successfully defended their total of 266 as India were bowled out for 259 on the penultimate delivery of the 50th over. Despite Shubman Gill’s fifth ODI ton (121), India fell short by six runs in the end to give Bangladesh their first win against India since 2012 in the ODI Asia Cup. Incidentally, the last time Bangladesh won against India before this victory was in 2012, the match when Sachin scored his 100th international hundred.
India lost Rohit Sharma in the very first over of the chase for a duck. Gill then kept on scoring from one end and in the process, built partnerships with KL Rahul (19) and Suryakumar Yadav (26).
All-rounders Axart Patel (42) and Shardul Thakur (11) added a crucial stand of 40 runs for the eighth wicket but once Axar was dismissed, the match swung in Bangladesh’s favor.

Despite @ShubmanGill‘s brilliant century, it wasn’t enough. @akshar2026 kept us alive, but Bangladesh emerged victorious. Brilliant bowling by Tanzim on debut and @Mustafiz90 showing death bowling experience. Kudos to both teams for an electrifying match!#IndvBan #AsiaCup2023

Got to feel for Axar, man. What an underappreciated player!
50 wkts in 12 Tests, but can’t get into the XI because of two GOATs.
Stunning knocks in his ODI career already, but doesn’t get to go in when he should.
Same story in IPL.
Deserves way more credit.

Thoughts on the game? A loss just before the finals. A lot of big players are missing here but it could have been won had one of them decided to stay until the end. Still, Shubhman Gill and Axar’s performances are a positive takeaway. #INDvsBAN #AsiaCup2023

Silly batting by KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Jadeja

Tactical move of playing 4 spinners paid off for #Bangladesh in today’s game!
They were 15 -20 runs ahead on this pitch.#Gill what a knock ! Surely will take his confidence upwards!Economy is as important as picking wickets in limited overs? ?

Rahul Dravid introduced the streak of losing ODIs to Bangladesh in 2007, and that hasn't changed under this man in 2023 either. Last year we lost the ODI series to them. ???#INDvsBAN pic.twitter.com/Na1piH9Jp5

Earlier in the game, Bangladesh posted a competitive 265/8. Shakib Al Hasan scored 80 and also took the crucial wicket of SKY. Colombo where the last game Sri Lanka won chasing against Pakistan, just a night ago, The Tigers managed to stop India from achieving the target.

The Men in Blue will have to put this loss behind them and focus on the final against Sri Lanka on Sunday. India rested as many as five of their main players ahead of the big final on Sunday.
They made as many as five changes with Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah rested from this game. In came Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna, Shami, and Tilak Varma.
