Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra picked a player from each side who is likely to perform in the 2nd Test at lord’s and explained the reasons behind his call. It will be an interesting battle between India and England in the second Test as both teams have been hit with injuries and the home team has suffered a bit more.

The likes of Stuart Broad, James Anderson are all set to miss the upcoming Test and a lot will rely on the young inexperienced England pace attack without Jofra Archer or Chris Woakes. Bringing in Moeen Ali might add a better balance to their squad and Mark Wood is set to come into the playing XI as well.

Aakash Chopra Puts His Weight Behind Ollie Robinson

Aakash Chopra was quite confident that Ollie Robinson will be the standout bowler from the English side in the second test because of the trouble the latter can bring with his height. Chopra reckoned that Robinson was the pick of the bowlers from the previous Test and added that it is not going to be easy for the batsmen in judging his lines as well.

“If England were to bowl, I am picking Ollie Robinson. The slope will help this player a lot because you will not know which ball to leave and which ball to play.”

He was the standout bowler of the last encounter. The height from which he bowls, his debut was also at Lord’s, if I remember correctly. You are already worried about the bounce and now you will have problems with the line as well,” Aakash Chopra Reckoned On His Youtube Channel

Aakash Chopra Picks Jasprit Bumrah To Be India’s Player To Watch Out For

Aakash Chopra felt that Bumrah was going to have the most impact among the Indian bowlers in the second Test and reckoned that the Lord’s pitch will suit him with his sideways movement. He was also quite sure about Bumrah enjoying the challenge and getting ready.

“From India, I am picking Boom Boom. The Lord’s pitch is slightly tilted, so there is sideways movement with and against the slope. It is very normal for the ball to go in the reverse direction of what you intend to do. Boom boom – as the heat is increasing, he is getting super fit,” he added.
