IND vs PAK: Ramiz Raja Predicted Highest Run-Getter And Wicket-Taker For India-Pakistan Match

Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja predicted the highest run scorer and leading run-getter in the India-Pakistan match at the ICC World Cup 2023. Ramiz Raja said that Kuldeep Yadav has been included in the Indian squad, considering Pakistan’s struggles against wrist spin.

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is currently hosting the much-hyped India-Pakistan match in the ongoing World Cup. Notably, the home team emerged victorious in the last ODI World Cup, registering an 89-run victory against Pakistan in Manchester.

Pakistan Struggle Against Wrist Spin – Ramiz Raja

Speaking on JioCinema’s daily show ‘#AAKASHVANI,’ Ramiz Raja said that Virat Kohli will be the highest run scorer due to his excellent record against Pakistan’s bowling attack. Raja also mentioned that Kuldeep Yadav will be the highest wicket-taker.

“I believe Virat Kohli will be the highest run-getter and will definitely give a key performance because of how well he does against them. Also, Pakistan’s bowling attack suits Kohli as well,” said Raja.

“I also think that Kuldeep Yadav will be the highest wicket-taker. And I believe Yadav’s inclusion in the team has been done keeping Pakistan in mind because they struggle against wrist spin,” he added.

Kuldeep picked up two wickets for 32 runs against Pakistan in the last ODI World Cup. The left-arm wrist spinner outfoxed Babar Azam with a brilliant googly, which turned enough to beat the batter’s edge.

Babar Azam Needs To Shine – Ramiz Raja

The former Pakistan skipper highlighted the need for Babar Azam to perform well and score crucial runs for Pakistan in the World Cup.

“Babar Azam needs to shine and put some important runs on the board. It could be the case that he may be under pressure and that might be making him freeze and not be his usual self,” he further stated.

“He will have to forget about all of this and have a fresh mindset, capitalize on the opportunity and back himself to come big in a World Cup fixture. And the important thing is that he is a solid batter – all facets of his game are refined along with class and quality. He just needs to get out of this mental block and not think about failure.”
