IND vs PAK: "Virat Kohli ke joote ke barabar bhi nahi hai" - Danish Kaneria humiliates Babar Azam; calls Pakistan team a joke

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria launched a scathing attack on Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Babar Azam ahead of their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 clash with India on Sunday, June 9, at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

The Men in Green had a really embarrassing start to their T20 World Cup 2024, losing their opening game to the debutant and co-hosts USA by five runs in the Super Over in Texas on June 6. In this match, Babar made 40 runs off 43 balls, which Kaneria felt was just another poor inning from him.

Before the start of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan cricket lost the T20I series 2-0 to England and suffered defeat in the first match before winning the T20I series in Ireland. Not only in Pakistan, Babar’s poor form and slow innings raised many eyebrows.

Well, ahead of the IND vs PAK clash, Kaneria has labeled the Pakistan cricket team as a ‘joke’, saying Babar and his team are not serious about the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. The former Pakistani spinner also slammed the Pakistani players for holidaying in the US with family.

Even Kaneria crossed all the limits to express his frustration at Babar as he questioned the people about how they could compare the Pakistan skipper with India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli, who has an outstanding record across the world, every opposition, and even in the T20 World Cup.

The former Pakistani bowler humiliated Babar by saying that the Pakistan skipper is not even equal to Kohli’s shoes and asserted that people should not compare the right-hander with one of the world’s best all-format batters, Kohli. He was so angry with Pakistan’s loss to the USA in the mega event.

He said that Pakistan is a big name in the world of cricket and has produced a lot of legends in the past, so it was a really shameful defeat for the Men in Green in their T20 World Cup 2024 opener against the USA. He felt Pakistan should have one-sidedly won the game against the USA.

Danish Kaneria said in a video posted by IANS on X: “As soon as Babar Azam scored a hundred the next day, you’ll see comparisons with Virat Kohli. Virat k joote k barabar bhi nahi hai. USA Bowlers had him stuck, he was unable to play the bowlers. As soon as he reached 40-odd runs he got out.

He should have stayed and won the game. Pakistan should have won the game one sided. Pakistan cricket team is a joke, not serious about T20 World Cup, just holidaying in US with family.”

Kaneria signed off by saying on the IND vs PAK game, “India will beat them badly. They are not capable of beating India. Whenever Pakistan come to the World Cup, they keep praising their bowling and say that their bowling will win them the game but that was the reason they lost the first game.”
