IND vs PAK: "We Have Missed Jasprit Bumrah A Lot Over The Past 2 Years" - Rahul Dravid On Ace Pacer's Return

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid expressed delight with ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the national cricket team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Rahul Dravid emphasized that Jasprit Bumrah’s presence will strengthen the bowling line-up in the upcoming tournaments.
Jasprit Bumrah was named in India’s 17-member squad for the upcoming continental tournament. The right-arm pacer last played for the Men in Blue in the ODI format in July 2022. He proved his match fitness in the recently concluded three-match T20I series against Ireland.
The 29-year-old sustained a back injury while playing for India in a T20I match against Australia in September last year. He missed the Asia Cup 2023 and the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. He successfully underwent surgery for his back in March in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Good To See Jasprit Bumrah Back – Rahul Dravid
On Tuesday, Rahul Dravid highlighted the importance of Jasprit Bumrah‘s comeback to the team after a two-year absence. Dravid emphasized that Bumrah’s return enhances India’s pace bowling options, especially for the upcoming World Cup.
“We have missed Jasprit Bumrah a lot over the past 2 years, hasn’t played a lot. Good to see him back. It does give us more options in pace bowling department especially in a long tournament like World Cup,” Rahul Dravid said.
Bumrah was named captain of the second-string Indian team for the T20I series against Ireland. He picked up four wickets with an impressive average of 9.75 and an economy rate of 4.88. He was named Player of the Series for his brilliant bowling performances.
India Set To Begin Their Asia Cup 2023 Campaign On September 2
The Asia Cup 2023 will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17. Pakistan will host the four matches in the tournament, while the remaining matches will be played in Sri Lanka. The tournament will kick off with the match between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan.
The Rohit Sharma-led team will begin their campaign by taking on archrivals Pakistan at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, September 2. The Men in Blue will play against Nepal in their second and final group stage match at the same venue on Monday, September 4.
