IND vs SL: Everyone Please Play- Aakash Chopra Advises Team India

Former Indian player Aakash Chopra has advised Team India that they should not make too many changes to their playing XI in their upcoming clash against Sri Lanka. Aakash Chopra also requested every player to play in the IND vs SL clash.

IND vs SL, super four match of Asia Cup 2023, is set to take place on Tuesday (September 12). The match takes place at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The winner of the encounter will get a ticket to the final.

IND vs SL: Don’t Make Too Many Changes, Says Aakash Chopra

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that India has not qualified for Asia Cup 2023 final so far and hence it is necessary to play the best XI against Sri Lanka.

“You have not yet qualified and if it’s necessary to beat Sri Lanka, then go with the entire team. It might rain today once again and you might end up playing just a 20-over match. It’s a quick turnaround. You might say that you can rest players”, he said.

The reputed commentator also noted that players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill did not play any matches last month. He also noted that KL Rahul has returned to the field after a long time.

“I am saying neither Rohit nor Kohli played in the entire August. Kohli batted on the 11th but Rohit did it on the 10th. I would say both of them should play. Shubman Gill batted on the 10th and not on the 11th.

After that, KL Rahul has just started playing. He scored a century, I agree he batted both on the 10th and the 11th but he will have to do it on the 12th also because you have not played cricket for a long time.

Notably, India will face Sri Lanka today i.e. September 12 (Tuesday). However, they have played for two days in a row. India vs Pakistan match started on September 10. It was halted due to rain and resumed the next day (September 11).

Hence, Indian players will be on the field for third day in a row. India crushed Pakistan by 228 runs in IND vs PAK clash of Asia Cup 2023. India piled up 356-10 in 1st innings and later bowled out Pakistan for 128, winning the game.
