A piece of good news has arrived for the Indian team as Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul have recovered from their injuries and will be able to play in Asia Cup 2023. However, Shreyas Iyer is expected to take more time to get fit and might get snubbed for Asia Cup 2023.

KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, and Shreyas Iyer are currently undergoing treatment for their respective injuries. All these three players underwent surgeries this year and are recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The trio are key players for India for ODI World Cup 2023, set to commence in October this year.

Jasprit Bumrah And KL Rahul Expected To Be Fit For Asia Cup 2023- Reports

According to a report by The Indian Express, pacer Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul will be fit before Asia Cup 2023 and will be available for the multi-nation tournament in Sri Lanka. Asia Cup 2023 starts on August 31.

Jasprit Bumrah has already started bowling in the net in NCA. The right-arm pacer will be fit before IND vs IRE series but selectors will like to play him directly in Asia Cup 2023. KL Rahul is currently doing skill training and might be fit till mid-July. The former vice-captain can also be part of the IND vs IRE series in July.

However, the same report also alleged that Shreyas Iyer will require more time to recover from his injury and hence might not be part of Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023. As a result, players like Sanju Samson or Suryakumar Yadav can get opportunities in the middle order during this tournament.

Jasprit Bumrah is out of the field since September 2022 due to a back injury. He underwent a back surgery earlier this year. KL Rahul faced a thigh injury during IPL 2023 and underwent thigh surgery in May 2023. Shreyas Iyer suffered a back injury during IND vs AUS series in February-March 223 and underwent back surgery following the series.
