Indian middle-order batter Tilak Varma expressed his admiration for Suryakumar Yadav’s batting performance during the third T20I match against the West Indies. Tilak Varma highlighted that he thoroughly enjoyed watching Yadav’s aggressive shots in challenging batting conditions.
The West Indies put up a competitive total of 159/5 on a used surface at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Tuesday, August 8. The home team picked up two early wickets in India’s innings. However, Suryakumar Yadav helped the team chase down the target with 13 deliveries to spare.
Enjoying Watching Surya’s Batting – Tilak Varma
Speaking after the seven-wicket win over the Windies, Tilak Varma said that Suryakumar Yadav played his shots freely despite the pitch not being easy to bat on.
“I really do not have much to say in particular about my knock. I was enjoying watching Surya’s batting from the other end. I thought that the ball was gripping and slowing down, but he was just scoring freely over covers, midwicket, then fine leg and I was just wondering that how is it even possible?” Tilak stated.
The 32-year-old scored 83 runs off 44 deliveries, including 10 fours and four sixes. He seemed to score his fourth T20I hundred, but he fell short by 17 runs. He was awarded Player of the Match for his exceptional knock.
