West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran won the competition against Indian skipper Hardik Pandya as he smashed him for two consecutive sixes in the series decider fifth T20I at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida.

Nicholas Pooran has been in an enthralling form throughout the series. He has proved to be the difference between the two teams as in almost every game as he played valuable knocks for his side to put them in a dominating position.

Nicholas Pooran’s six-hitting ability has been the standout feature of the batting and he has taken even Hardik Pandya to the cleaners. After the third game, the Indian captain took a dig at the West Indies batter and gave him an open challenge in a hilarious way.

Speaking after the third T20I, Hardik Pandya said that if Nicholas Pooran wants to hit him for sixes, he can do it as he enjoys such a competition. However, the West Indies batter exactly did that as he smoked the all-rounder for two consecutive sixes in the first over he bowled to the batter in the ongoing 5th game.

“Nicky (Pooran) didn’t come out to bat and that allowed us to keep our pacers back, also allowed Axar to bowl his four overs,” said the Indian all-rounder during the post-match presentation ceremony.

“If Nicky wants to hit, let him hit me and that was the plan, I enjoy such competition. I know he is going to hear this and will come hard at me in the fourth T20I,” added Pandya.

He scored 47 runs off 35 balls and also smashed 1 four and 4 sixes in his innings.

IND vs WI: Hardik Pandya fails to score big in the series decider

The ongoing series decider hasn’t been kind to Indian skipper Hardik Pandya as he looked clueless with both bat and ball in the game and has struggled completely in the game. With the bat, he was the batter with the worst strike for India and put his team under pressure by wasting almost three overs.

Hardik Pandya batted with a strike rate of just around 78 and scored 14 runs in 18 balls. With the ball too, he struggled as he bowled three overs and was smashed all over the park. He gave away 32 runs in 3 overs
