West Indies were absolutely no match for their fancied opponents as the latter blew the hosts away within three days. Batting first, West Indies were bowled out for just 150 runs in the first innings with ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin picking up five wickets while Ravindra Jadeja claimed three.

In reply, India declared their innings on 411 for 5. Debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Rohit Sharma led the charge with the bat for Team India. While Jaiswal scored 171 runs, Rohit scored 103 as the duo shared a 229-run stand for the first wicket. Virat Kohli also played a crucial knock of 76 runs.

With their back against the wall, West Indies needed to come up with a solid batting display but they failed once again. Ashwin was the destructor-in-chief once again. The India spin spearhead picked up 7 wickets to help his team bowl out West Indies for just 130 and register a thumping win.
