West Indies take on India in the second Test in Trinidad starting from July 20. The Windies suffered an innings defeat in the first Test and needs a lot to o to win the second Test. They are currently ranked eighth in the ICC Test rankings.

The Windies have put their faith in an uncapped spinner as they look to bounce back in the upcoming second and final Test against India after suffering a crushing defeat in the series-opener.

Ahead of the second Test in Trinidad, West Indies have called up off-spinner Kevin Sinclair in their 13-man squad in place of allrounder Raymon Reifer.

The 23-year-old has already plied his trade for West Indies in the white-ball format, having played seven ODIs and six T20Is so far. He was a part of the West Indies squad that recently participated in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe. He is yet to make his Test debut.

West Indies batters need to uplift their performances after being bowled out for 150 and 130 respectively. Kirk McKenzise and Alick Athanaze have retained their place in the XI as has Rahkeem Cornwall.

The inexperience of the West Indies Test side might face a hefty challenge against the full-strength India squad. Recently West Indies failed to qualify for the ICC ODI World Cup in India.

The challenge for them also will be now focusing on the upcoming Test match in Trinidad after a disappointing batting performance in Dominica. The batting will depend on skipper Kraigg Brathwaite and the bowling mostly on Jason Holder and Kemar Roach. In this article, we take a look at the possible West Indies XI for the first Test.
