India squad for T20 World Cup 2026: Full team list, match schedule, venues and dates

On Saturday, December 20, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad of the India National Cricket Team for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.

ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is set to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The tournament will commence on February 7, and the summit clash will be held on March 8.

The Men In Blue will be heading into the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 as the defending champions, having won the title back in 2024 under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.

They have been placed in the same group as the USA, Namibia, Pakistan, and the Netherlands, and will start their campaign on February 7 against the United States of America.

Their next match will be against Namibia on February 12, before the high-octane clash against the arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15. Their last group stage match would be against the Netherlands on February 18.

The Men In Blue will be playing their group stage matches at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, and the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Talking about the 15-member squad, it is mostly along the expected lines. Suryakumar Yadav, who has been going through a lean patch in T20I cricket, will be leading the team, and Axar Patel will be serving as his deputy.

The World No.1 batter Abhishek Sharma will continue as India's opener and will be provided with much-needed support from the likes of Suryakumar, Rinku Singh, and Tilak Varma in the batting department.

Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube will serve as India's premier all-rounders, and Washington Sundar will provide the back-up.

Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson have been named as two wicketkeeper-batsmen, while Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav have been picked as two frontline spinners.

The pace-bowling department will be spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, while Harshit Rana will serve as the back-up pacer.
