Team India suffered a huge injury scare on Monday (June 17) with their star batsman Suryakumar Yadav copping a blow on his hand.

The world number one T20I batsman suffered the blow while facing throw down in the nets. Fortunately, he resumed batting soon after the physio applied magic spray on his arm. India will be hoping that the injury is not serious and he remains fit for the Super 8s games in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

There are still more than two days left before India play their first Super 8s game and they will be hoping that Suryakumar Yadav is 100 percent fit for the game.

The right-handed batsman scored a brilliant match-winning fifty in the previous game against the USA that helped India book their spot in the Super 8s. Chasing 110 in the testing conditions in New York, India were off to a poor start after losing the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli cheaply once again. They were reeling at 39 for 3 in the 8th over before Suryakumar Yadav's unbeaten 50-run knock took India home.

India's Super 8s fixtures:

Team India will be facing Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Australia in the Super 8s for a place in the semifinal. The Rohit Sharma-led side will begin their Super 8s campaign against Afghanistan on June 20 in Barbados. It will be followed by games against Bangladesh and Australia on June 22 and 24 respectively.

India have started their campaign in the T20 World Cup in a dominating fashion and will be looking to continue the same form in the Super 8s as well. The Men in Blue started their campaign with an 8-wicket win over Ireland before beating arch-rivals Pakistan by 6 runs. It was followed by the win over the USA before the game against Canada was washed out.
