The Indian women’s team registered big victories. Their only loss was against arch-rivals Pakistan in a closely fought contest. Pakistan scored 137. Chasing 138 to win, India were bundled out for 124.
Heading into the semifinal clash against Thailand, India’s stand-in skipper Smriti Mandhana praised the side for the cricket that they played. She had encouraging words for the side after India beat Thailand in their last league game.
“This Indian team is a fun team to play with. Thailand played good cricket in this tournament. We were looking forward to come out and play. Our bowlers were brilliant. All three batters did their job. We have the semifinal after two days. We’ll be working hard, looking forward to go out and play that” Mandhana said.
