IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians Reveal Their Brand-New Jersey Ahead Of The Tournament

The most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians, have revealed their new jersey ahead of IPL 2021. The IPL 2021 is all set to begin from April 09 this year with the first game of the tournament taking place between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mumbai are the most successful franchise in the history of IPL so far. Until now, they have won a total of 5 IPL titles. They are also the current defending champions of the Indian Premier League as they won the 13th edition of the tournament last year which was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after beating Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final of the tournament.
Mumbai Indians Unveil Their New Jersey Ahead Of IPL 2021
On Saturday, the Mumbai-based franchise unveiled their new jersey ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021). The new jersey has been designed by renowned fashion designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil. The speciality of the jersey this year is that it contains the five basic elements of the Universe – Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Sky, each signifying the essence of the five-time Champion.
Speaking about the jersey and its essence, Mumbai Indians Spokesperson said, “Mumbai Indians has carried forward a legacy every year, built on our core values and ideologies. Our five IPL titles are testament to our commitment to these values and it is extremely fulfilling that we have been able to signify it through our jersey this year.”
“There is a lot of thought which goes into designing our jerseys every year because we understand that it is worn by our players and fans with a sense of pride and honour. This season we decided to wear the elements of our DNA on our jersey, which has enabled us to become the most successful sports club in the country. We shall wear the pride of our Paltan whenever we step out in this jersey,” the spokesperson further said.

IPL 2021 All Set To Take Off From April 09
The VIVO IPL 2021 is all set to kick off from April 9 this year with the opening game of the tournament taking place between MI and RCB at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. A total of 6 venues have been finalized by the BCCI to conduct the IPL this year in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The venues include Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad.
The newly-built Narendra Modi Stadium will host all the playoff games and the final of the tournament which is scheduled to take place on May 30 this year. No team has been allotted home and away venues in this year’s edition and the games will take place behind closed doors. Any decision on bringing the crowds back in the stadium will be taken at a later stage in the tournament.
