Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) player Jason Holder has said that his team members need to come together and support their captain David Warner in IPL 2021. Sunrisers Hyderabad, which is led by Australian cricketer David Warner in IPL 2021, lost their opening match to Kolkata Knight Riders by 10 runs. West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder feels that it is important for the players to rally around the skipper.
Sunrisers Hyderabad is one of the strongest teams in IPL. They won the title in IPL 2016 under Warner’s leadership and have made it to the playoffs in every subsequent IPL season. Last year, Sunrisers Hyderabad finished in 3rd place and their journey ended after losing Qualifier 2 match to Delhi Capitals.
Really Important To Rally Around David Warner: Jason Holder
While speaking about skipper David Warner to Sports Today, Jason Holder said that the players should give as much support as possible to the skipper.
“Well, for me it’s about buying. You got to get players around you to buy into your plans. I think a strong leader has a strong support. It’s important that players rally around their captain. For us at SRH, it’s really important to rally around David and give him as much support as we possibly can. David has to be the ultimate decision-maker,” Jason Holder said.
Holder also mentioned that Sunrisers Hyderabad have players who have international experience and they should come together to help Warner in the leadership.
“He has got so much of responsibility on his shoulders and he needs people around to help and support him. So that’s where I guess myself, Kane, Jonny, Bhuvneshwar, Sandeep Sharma for Indian players at least and Vijay Shankar, Kedar Jadhav who have got international experience.
“He has got really good resources in terms of experience around him and it’s just to us to come together and help him get the best of the players and help the franchises to be successful,” Holder further said.
Jason Holder has been part of Sunrisers Hyderabad since IPL 2020. Earlier too, he played for the franchise in IPL 2014 and IPL 2015. Last season in IPL 2020, Holder played 7 matches for SRH and grabbed 14 wickets.
He played a crucial role in the victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Eliminator Match in IPL 2020, where he picked 3 wickets and scored a vital unbeaten knock of 24 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their next match in IPL 2021 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday (April 14).
