IPL 2023 Auction: Pat Cummins Makes A Bold Statement On The Participation Of Cameron Green In IPL 2023

Cameron Green, the dashing all-rounder has made a name for himself in a short span of time in World Cricket.  In the series against India, Cameron Green smashed 2 half-centuries in the absence of David Warner. The youngster has shown great power and has got all the traits to be the next big thing.

Cameron Green was drafted into the main squad of the ICC T20 World Cup as a replacement for Josh Inglis. Green has a lot of variations where he can deceive the batters. The 23-year-old Cricketer would be eyeing an IPL Contract as the auction is scheduled on 23rd December at Kochi.

Pat Cummins was having an interaction with SEN Radio and was asked about Cameron Green. “Yeah potentially (Green will enter his name in the IPL auction). We’ll wait and see, I think the auction is a little while away. Selfishly as a captain, I’d love for him to save all of his energy for Australia. But how can you tell someone to say no to that kind of opportunity?” said Cummins.

Crucial Series for Australia

Australia is all set to play the 5 Test Match Series in India which most probably decide the finalists of the World Test Championship (WTC). Cricket Australia (CA) would be well aware of the fact that they haven’t won a Test Series in India since 2004 and would be eager to end the drought of 18 years. Cameron Green has shown that he can be the lightning spark for Australia as he knows how to surprise the opposition and most importantly he can provide lusty blows.

With so much International Cricket aligned next, the players will have to be selective in their approach. If Australia makes it to the Finals of WTC 2021-23 then Green will have to be fit for the finale as IPL can drain the cricketer. It would be interesting to see what decision Cameron Green makes as Cricket Australia would be hoping that his form doesn’t get hampered due to the IPL 2023 edition.
