India National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir named his all-time Indian Premier League (IPL) XI of teammates. The former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper named 5 Indian players in the team, but what caught the attention of many was he didn't name Virender Sehwag in his team.

Virender Sehwag is among the best players that played in the Indian Premier League. The former India skipper picked a team of players who mostly played for Kolkata Knight Riders under his leadership in the tournament. Gambhir also played a major role in the league as he was one of the best batters in the league along with being the skipper. He helped KKR win two titles in the league in 2012 and 2014.

Gambhir picked himself as the opener of the team alongside Robin Uthappa. The duo were two of the main reasons behind the success of Kolkata Knight Riders, as their opening partnership was the main reason why the franchise went on to win the title in 2014.

At No.3, Gautam Gambhir went on to pick Suryakumar Yadav in the team. The Mumbai Indians batter, who played in Kolkata Knight Riders under Gambhir, is the best T20 batter India has produced, and in the 150 games he has amassed around 3600 runs in the tournament.

At No.4, Jacques Kallis found a place in Gambhir's XI. The former South Africa all-rounder was one of the major reasons behind the success of Kolkata Knight Riders in the league. He was equally good for the team with both bat and ball in his entire career.

Yusuf Pathan, who also played under the leadership of Gambhir in the IPL, also found a place in his all-time XI. The former Indian spinner won titles with Rajasthan Royals as well as Kolkata Knight Riders and played a massive role for the teams he played for.

Andre Russell is the second pace bowling all-rounder in the team along with Jacques Kallis. The Carribean player has been one of the best players to have played in the history of the league. He has played for Kolkata Knight Riders throughout his career and has played a huge role in making the team successful.

Shakib Al Hasan and Sunil Narine are the two spin-bowling all-rounder picked by Gambhir in his all-time IPL XI. The duo also represented Kolkata Knight Riders and played under Gambhir. They arguably are two of the finest players to have played in the league.

Piyush Chawla, who has 192 wickets in the IPL, along with New Zealand great Daniel Vettori were also picked by the current India National Cricket Team head coach. Morne Morkel, who is the bowling coach of the Indian Team, is the frontline pacer picked in the team.
