Rajasthan batter Mahipal Lomror grabbed eyeballs with an impressive batting display ahead of the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. Lomror smashed his maiden triple century during the ongoing Ranji Trophy Group B match against Uttarakhand on Thursday, November 14.
Rajasthan is currently taking on Uttarakhand in a Group B match at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in Dehradun. The Deepak Hooda-led team declared their first innings at a massive total of 660/7 in 145.4 overs. Lomror remained unbeaten on 300 runs off 360 balls, with the help of 25 fours and 13 sixes.
Mahipal Lomror Smashes His Maiden Triple Century in First-Class Cricket
Lomror came to the crease when Rajasthan lost their first wicket at 23. The left-handed batter completed his maiden triple century on the second day of the match. He added a 177-run stand for the fifth wicket with Karthik Sharma, who scored 113. The southpaw then added 116 runs with Bharat Sharma.
This is Mahipal Lomror's first triple century in his first-class career. He has become only the second batter from Rajasthan to score a triple century, following Aakash Chopra, who scored 301* against Maharashtra.

Mahipal Lomror Scores Over 500 Runs in 2024-25 Ranji Trophy Season
Mahipal Lomror has scored two consecutive centuries in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, including a 111-run knock against Hyderabad in his previous match. He has scored over 500 runs in five matches. He scored 10 and 3 runs in his first match, followed by 99 runs in his second match and 6 runs in the third.
The 24-year-old cricketer made his first-class debut in 2016. He has scored over 3,300 runs in 84 innings across 54 matches at an average close to 40. The young batter has hit 8 centuries along with 16 half-centuries.
Royal Challengers Bangalore Can Still Use RTM for Lomror
Mahipal Lomror showed a mix of precision and aggression while playing shots during his knock in the ongoing match. The cricketer seems to be sending a strong message to IPL franchises ahead of the mega auction. He could become a reliable middle-order batsman who can also contribute with the ball.
Lomror's performance comes at the right moment, as IPL teams prepare to revamp their squads for the upcoming season. The IPL 2025 mega auction is scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Saudi Arabia. With IPL scouts and analysts closely monitoring player performances, Lomror could attract bids.
The 24-year-old left-hander played with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) last season. RCB has the option to use the Right to Match (RTM) card in the upcoming auction to retain him. The batter has scored 527 runs in 40 matches at an average of 18.17 and a strike rate of 141.29, with his best score being 54.
