The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.39, was at the capital of India, as the Delhi Capitals (DC) hosted the reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). It was a one-way game, from the first over, as RCB came out on top in the match and won the match by 9 wickets. RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to field first.

They played the same team that won against the Gujarat Titans. However, DC made three changes from their last loss against the Punjab Kings, with one being a forced one as Lungi Ngidi was not fit after a fatal head injury in the last match. Dushmantha Chameera, Kyle Jamieson, and Sahil Parakh came in place of Ngidi and Pathum Nissanka.

IPL 2026: DC vs RCB Match Result:

After being invited to bat first, the DC batters were falling like nine pins. Sahil was the first one to fall, and then KL Rahul and Sameer Rizvi were dismissed in a span of two balls. Then, Tristan Stubbs went back without troubling the RCB bowlers. They were 8/6 at one stage as Axar Patel also departed for a duck, followed by Nitish Rana.

Then David Miller and Abishek Porel stitched a small partnership of 35 runs; the former was dismissed on the score of 19 runs, as DC were left struggling at 43/7. After that, Kyle Jamieson and Porel surpassed the 50-run mark and anchored the innings a bit. But Jamieson was also dismissed as the home side was left crumbling at 62/8.

DC were bowled out for the score of 75 runs, with Abishek Porel scoring the highest runs for the Capitals, as he was the last man to be dismissed on the score of 30 runs. Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar created havoc as they dismantled the batting of DC, picking a combined 7 wickets among them.

Coming out to chase, the reigning champions had an excellent start to the game, as Jacob Bethell went all guns blazing from the very first over. He scored an impactful 20 off 10 balls, and then Devdutt Padikkal scored 34 off 13, and Virat Kohli scored 23 runs, as both batters remained unbeaten and the Bengaluru side chased down the total in 6.3 overs.
