The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no. 45 was between the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). It was the first game of the doubleheader on Sunday. This was the reverse fixture as the SRH won the last match these two sides met this season. However, KKR had the better of the Orange Army this time, winning the game by 7 wickets.

Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first in a day game, as SRH made two changes, Harshal Patel and Smaran Ravichandran coming in for Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harsh Dubey. KKR also made some changes, with Tim Seifert and Ramandeep Singh making way for Finn Allen and Manish Pandey.

IPL 2026: SRH vs KKR Match Result:

After choosing to bat first, the Orange Army openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, were off to a flying start, scoring over 10 an over. However, Sharma was dismissed on the score of 15 runs; however, Head kept on firing and kept the run rate up, and scored his fifty in 22 balls and was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy on 61 runs.

Ishan Kishan was also firing from the other end, and Heinrich Klaasen, who did not get going, was dismissed by a stunning one-handed catch from Rovman Powell in the score of 11 runs, then followed the debutant Smaran Ravichandran, who went back for a run four runs. The wickets kept on coming with Chakravarthy picking three wickets for 36 runs.

Sunil Narine picked his 200th IPL wicket playing for a single franchise, KKR, as he picked Salil Arora, and then in the same over, Kishan followed with the score of 42 runs. Cummins also failed to create much trouble and was picked by Anukul Roy. They could not even play the full 20 overs and were bowled out for 165 in 19 overs.

While chasing, KKR had a fiery start, with Finn Allen playing a knock of 29 off 13 deliveries, and smacking all around the park, but was dismissed in the same over he took charge against Pat Cummins. Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi then kept the runs flowing as KKR scored 71/1 in the power play.

The two stitched a partnership of fifty runs in 32 balls, and they achieved the 100-run mark in 9.2 overs. Then the two kept on ticking the runs as Angrkish brought up his half-century in 39 balls. Rahane was dismissed on the score of 43 runs, and then Raghuvanshi was dismissed on 59 runs. The Knights sealed the match, making their three wins in a row.
