The Asia Cup 2025 clash between India and Pakistan turned ugly once again, not for the cricket but for the antics of Pakistani players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan. India has crushed Pakistan twice in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, first in the group stage by seven wickets and then in the Super Fours by six wickets, but that brutal hammering doesn’t have any effect on Pakistan.
The Pakistan National Cricket Team and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) continue to make unnecessary drama to hide their poor performance against the Men in Blue. They have now crossed all the limits by bringing India’s Operation Sindoor into the game through their actions.
India’s double demolition overshadowed by Pakistan’s disgraceful antics in the Asia Cup 2025
During the Super Four clash in Dubai on September 21, Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan’s controversial gestures on the field sparked massive outrage, with former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan slamming the behavior as disgraceful.

Sahibzada Farhan shocked everyone by turning his bat into a gun and pretending to fire into the air after completing his half-century with a six off Axar Patel. The act was seen as insensitive, especially with emotions still raw after the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 innocent lives in April 2025.
Later in the game, Haris Rauf also crossed the line, repeatedly making a “6-0” gesture toward the Indian crowd, who were mocking the Pakistani fast bowler with the chants of Virat Kohli. Rauf was smacked for back-to-back sixes in the 2022 T20 World Cup to help India beat Pakistan.

Rauf was even seen making the gesture of a plane crashing through his hands at the boundary line, linked to Pakistan’s unverified claims of shooting down six Indian fighter jets during Operation Sindoor.
Now, Irfan Pathan called out Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan’s antics as shameful and unnecessary, suggesting they focus on their cricket instead of insulting the spirit of the game. He stressed that Indian players never shy away from giving a fitting reply when provoked.
Irfan Pathan said in a video posted on his X handle, “Indian cricketers are never affected. We never say anything. We quietly play our cricket. But don’t think that we won’t respond if you say something, whether you’re Australian or Pakistani. We will answer. We will answer with our bat, and we will answer you. But if you mess with us, we won’t let you go. That has been our rule.”

Furthermore, Pathan criticized Farhan’s gun-style celebration, calling it insensitive given the tense situation between India and Pakistan since the Pahalgam attack. He also expressed disappointment with what Rauf had done, saying his behavior on the field was unnecessary.
Pathan signed off by saying, “What happened in the match yesterday, whether it was that Farhan’s celebration, you know what is happening between our two countries, and you are doing that celebration. Haris Rauf, I thought this boy was okay. When we spoke in Australia, he sounded grateful. But the way he behaved yesterday was not necessary. How both these boys acted only tells us about their upbringing, where they come from, and what they do.”
