Pakistan cricket team vice-captain Mohammad Rizwan played a knock of 90 runs during the 4th NZ vs PAK T20I match.

While Rizwan helped Pakistan reach a total of 158/6 in Christchurch, however, Pakistan faced yet another loss in the series and New Zealand lead the series by 4-0. New Zealand were able to chase down the target in the 19th over with 7 wickets to spare. Mohammad Rizwan hit a total of 6 fours and 2 sixes during his stay at the crease and scored a lot of runs by running between the wickets.

Meanwhile, during the 3rd T20I match, a hilarious incident happened with Mohammad Rizwan as he dropped his bat while running in between the wickets.

The incident took place on the fourth ball of the 6th over of the Pakistani innings, Rizwan tucked the ball from his back foot but lost his balance while playing the shot. At first, Rizwan ran for a single without the bat, but eyeing the opportunity of a double, he stretched extra to cross the popping crease at the non-striker’s end. However, in the replay, it was found that Rizwan didn’t cross the line and hence it was a short run.

Shikhar Dhawan takes a funny jibe at Mohammad Rizwan

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan took a dig at Mohammad Rizwan citing the incident and shared a post on his official ‘X’ handle. Dhawan captioned the post, “Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi.” Dhawan compared Mohammad Rizwan’s running style with Kabaddi, a sport in which players try to sneak points by touching the opposition players. During the game, the raider which has to touch the defenders to gain points, has to return to his end and cross the middle line.

Shikhar Dhawan has been out of the Indian cricket team for the past few times and has not been getting opportunities due to his dismal form. Dhawan’s last international match for India was during the tour of Bangladesh in December 2022.

Getting back to the NZ vs PAK 4th T20I match, Pakistan while batting first in Christchurch were able to put up a score of 158/5. The Pakistani team didn’t get a decent start and they lost opener Saim Ayub for 1 run. Babar Azam was also not able to do much and departed for 19 runs from 11 balls. Apart from Rizwan none of the Pakistani batsmen got going and got out cheaply for low scores.

Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson picked up two wickets each for New Zealand, whereas Adam Milne got one wicket.

Chasing down the target, New Zealand were reduced to 20/3 by Pakistani captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and he removed the top three Kiwi batsmen. However, Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips had something else in their mind and took the game away from the Pakistani team. Mitchell was unbeaten on 72 runs whereas Phillips scored 70*. At last, Pakistan were handed over their 4th consecutive loss in the series and their dismal form in international cricket continued.

Pakistan also faced a loss against Australia in the Test series ahead of the New Zealand tour whereas they were also knocked out from the ODI World Cup 2023 and finished 5th on the points table.

Pakistan have a lot of problems in their team and they need to address them as soon as possible otherwise, this can be a problem for the side in the future.
