Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli is gearing up to face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 36th match of the ongoing IPL 2024 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, April 21.

In their previous meeting, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) traveled to Bengaluru and recorded a resounding seven-wicket triumph over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
However, Kohli shone with the bat, showing his class with an unbeaten 83 off 59 deliveries. His stunning knock comprised four boundaries and an equal number of sixes against Kolkata.
With 361 runs at an impressive average of 72.20 and a strike rate of 147.34 in 7 matches so far, the dashing right-hander is the leading run- scorer in the ongoing IPL 2024.

The 35-year-old batter has already notched up a century along with two half-centuries in this season to solidify his stature as a formidable force in the IPL.
Well, the upcoming KKR vs RCB clash is going to be a special one for the former Indian skipper at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.
Actually, Kohli is on the verge of achieving two marvellous records in the IPL when he stepped into the field for the RCB against the KKR at Eden Gardens.
He needs 56 runs to complete 1,000 runs against KKR. If Kohli manages to score those runs, he will become the first player in IPL history to achieve this landmark against three different opponents.
Kohli has so far played 33 IPL matches against the KKR, and in his 30 innings, the star batter amassed 944 runs with the help of one century and six fifties at an average of over 39 and a strike rate of near 131. He has also smashed 83 fours and 26 sixes against KKR in the IPL so far.
Virat Kohli has great record at Eden Gardens
The former RCB skipper also has an impressive record against KKR at Eden Gardens, where he scored 353 runs at a strike rate of 126 in his 11 innings at the venue.
He hammered a fifty and a hundred at the iconic Eden Gardens, so he has a great chance to script history in the 36th match of this season when RCB will lock horns against KKR on Sunday.
Kohli has already scored over 1000 runs against the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL, and if he manages to score 56 runs in the KKR vs RCB clash at Eden Gardens, he will become the first player to score 1000 runs against three franchises in the IPL.
Kohli had scored 1030 runs in 28 innings at an impressive average of 51.50 against the Delhi Capitals (DC). Whereas the former Indian skipper amassed 1006 runs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 32 IPL matches at an average of 37.25.
Apart from Kohli, DC opener David Warner has also scored 1000+ runs against both the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and KKR in the IPL.
