India and Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Prasidh Krishna has tested positive for Covid-19 to become the fourth player from the franchise after Varun Chakravarthy, Sandeep Warrier, and New Zealand’s Tim Siefert.

The news of Prasidh Krishna testing positive for Covid comes a day after he was picked as a stand-by pacer for the upcoming tour of England where Team India will play six Tests including the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand.

“He is down with COVID-19. The results have come in and he tested positive,” the sou

rce said as quoted by ANI.

Earlier in the day, New Zealand Cricket Chief executive David White confirmed that Tim Siefert has returned positive for the virus.

“It’s really unfortunate for Tim and we’ll do everything for him that we can from this end, and hopefully he will be able to test negative and be cleared and approved for discharge as soon as he’s well again,” White said.

“Since receiving the news, we’ve organized support for Tim and have also — via the players association, been in contact with his family to ensure they’re kept fully informed and updated on developments,” he added.

Kolkata Knight Riders was the first camp that got plagued with Covid-19 after wrist-spinner Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier returned positive.

The virus soon spread to CSK camp with L. Balaji and a bus driver testing positive. The final nail in the coffin was hammered when Delhi Capitals Amit Mishra and SunRisers Hyderabad’s Wriddhiman Saha tested positive, forcing the BCCI to suspend the 14th season for an indefinite period of time.
