Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra expressed his concerns about the performance of Ravindra Jadeja in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. He said that the all-rounder hasn't been at his best in the tournament and is unable to take wickets as well.

Ravindra Jadeja has been the weak link in the Indian team in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Considered as the MVP of the team, the all-rounder has failed to live up to the expectations with the bat and ball and hasn't contributed as was expected of him in the tournament.

Ravindra Jadeja hasn't scored runs with the bat down the order and is not even at his best with the ball. The all-rounder has picked just one wicket with the ball in the tournament and in the last game against Bangladesh went wicketless, where the pitch offered help to spinners.

On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav made most of the conditions with the ball. He bowled 4 overs in the game and tilted the game in his team's favor. The leg-spinner picked 3 wickets and returned with the figures of 3/19. Based on the effort with the ball, India won the game by 50 runs.

Aakash Chopra believes that Kuldeep Yadav is Rohit Sharma's favorite bowler as he is taking wickets for the team in the crucial junctures. He also stated that is he concerned about Ravindra Jadeja's performance and pointed out that the all-rounder is bowling too fast and too short. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:

"Let's talk about Kuldeep Yadav. He is Rohit Sharma's favourite bowler. He always wants to keep him in his team. Since the ball has started coming slightly quicker from his hand, it's turning left or right after pitching, and he is picking up wickets. He remains economical and takes wickets as well.

"He doesn't bowl loose balls. He is India's trump card. I am slightly concerned about Ravindra Jadeja's performance. I will be very honest because we haven't seen Ravindra Jadeja's premier avatar even once in this entire tournament. He is bowling too fast and too short, so he is unable to pick up wickets."

The 'Q' hasn't been written in front of their name as of now, but you can assume that it has been put - Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra also talked about the bowling performances of other bowlers and claimed that although India hasn't qualified officially for the semi-finals but they are almost there. He elaborated:

"Axar Patel also didn't bowl that well in this match, but then there were the fast bowlers. Bumrah gave six runs in two overs at the start and a catch was also dropped. If Rishabh Pant had taken that catch, he would have got another wicket. Bumrah had two wickets, Arshdeep had two wickets, Hardik had one, and Kuldeep had three, and that's it, India won this game,"

"The 'Q' hasn't been written in front of their name as of now, but you can assume that it has been put. I tell you why. When India plays against Australia tomorrow, it's great if they win, but even if they lose, the net run rate has gone so far ahead that we will be through even if it's a three-way tie. Don't worry about it, we are going to Guyana," he concluded.
