Lahore Qalandars Set To Receive 10 Million On Winning The PSL 2022 Title

The CEO of the Bank of Punjab, Masud Zafar, has said that the Pakistan Super League franchise Lahore Qalandars will receive the prize money of Rs 10 million if they win the PSL 2022 championship.

The Lahore Qalandars team have never won the Pakistan Super League title despite having some of the most talented players in the team. In the 2016 & 2017 seasons, they were ranked 5th in the standings and in the 2018 & 2019 seasons they finished at the 6th spot.

In the 2020 season of the Pakistan T20 league, they finished at No.3 position in the points table and they entered the final as well. However, they faced a 5-wicket defeat against the Karachi Kings in the final. Meanwhile, in the 2021 edition, they once again had a very poor outing and were knocked out of the tournament after finishing at the No.5 spot.

Meanwhile, the CEO of the Bank of Punjab, Masud Zafar, and the CEO of Lahore Qalandars, Atif Rana signed an agreement during a ceremony ahead of the PSL 2022. After signing the deal, Masud showered praise on the Pakistan Super League.

“The PSL promotes healthy activities among the youth as cricket holds special sentiments for the people. The core objective of this alliance is to encourage playing sports and especially cricket among the youth,” Masud was quoted as saying on nation.com.pk.

He further added that the Qalandars are the favourite team of the majority of cricket fans in Pakistan including himself.

“Lahore Qalandars is not just my favourite team but also of the majority of the cricket fans. It’s not a sponsorship rather it’s a partnership between the two entities with common goals and objectives. To further infuse the interest in the league, new joint products will soon be launched that will be beneficial for both organizations,” he stated.

“Today is a big day of my life as I had started my professional career as a banker and today sitting with the topmost banker of Pakistan makes me really feel proud,” he added.
