Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has delivered a scathing statement on the team’s shocking defeat to England in the first Test at Multan. Akmal has labeled the current Pakistan cricket team as worse than a local club team after they suffered an innings and 47-run loss to England in the opening Test of the three-match Test series in Multan.

Pakistan, under the leadership of Shan Masood, crumbled yet again and suffered their sixth consecutive Test loss since taking over the charge late last year. Despite posting a colossal 556 in the first inning, Pakistan's bowlers failed miserably, allowing England to rack up a staggering 823/7.

With this embarrassing loss, Pakistan achieved an unwanted record, becoming the first team in Test cricket to lose by an innings after posting over 550 runs in the first innings.

The defeat has intensified scrutiny on the Pakistan team, as they haven’t won a game on home soil in over three years, with their last red-ball success dating back to February 2021 against South Africa.

Since then, they have faced a series of crushing losses to top teams like Australia, England, and even Bangladesh, only managing to draw a home Test series against New Zealand. After the match, Kamran Akmal said that Pakistan's side has become a local team, and even the club team doesn't perform like this.

His fiery criticism didn’t stop there, as he accused the Pakistan players of prioritizing personal milestones over team success, blaming the selfish approach for the team's disastrous form. Akmal also called for the removal of players who are more focused on individual glory than on representing the nation with pride.

Kamran Akmal further mentioned that the world is laughing at Pakistan's downfall as big teams continue to shatter records against them while the team sinks to new lows following their shameful performance against England on home soil.

Speaking on his YouTube channel after the loss, Kamran Akmal said, “The world must be amazed by the way Pakistan lost. Nobody will believe this. Pakistan's side has become a locality team. Even the club team doesn't perform like this. This is the current standard of our team. We win against small teams but can't even get close to big teams. The whole world is laughing at the Pakistan team.”

Kamran Akmal signed off by saying, “The Pakistan team has a selfish approach. In our country, players play for their personal milestones and then think about the team. The captain should be asked who is the player involved in this. Inquire about this and remove the responsible person. You are favoring them without performance.
