Maninder Singh, a former cricketer for India, believes the T20 World Cup lineup is already set, despite the opinions of fans, analysts, and other players who believe selections would be made based on India’s performance in the 2022 Asia Cup.

There is not much time left before the BCCI selection committee must present the Indian team for the T20 World Cup in 2022.

Maninder stated that there may be room for new players to join the squad only if specific team members are injured or must miss out for some other reason during a virtual encounter with the media arranged through the Sony Sports Network.

“Whatever opportunities you receive at the international level, you must continue to perform well to give selectors more reason to believe that you are capable of handling the task at hand. I will use Kuldeep Yadav as an example.”

“He had a wonderful IPL 2022, and he has performed admirably in all of his opportunities to play international white-ball cricket thus far. In that case, it will be extremely important for each member of the team” Maninder stated.

Maninder Singh also discussed players like Axar Patel, who only get opportunities when the starters are out.
“Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel might make the World Cup selection, but I believe the team has already been decided. They may only have opportunities if someone is injured. Therefore, you cannot anticipate any injuries. With COVID, you can never tell who is going to crumble in the modern world.”

“For all the players traveling to Zimbabwe, the series will be extremely significant in this regard. They will also be selected for the following series, or perhaps even the World Cup, if they continue to play well” Maninder Singh Stated.

In a series of ODI matches, India and Zimbabwe will face off. On August 18, the opening ODI of India’s 2022 tour to Zimbabwe will take place.
