Mayank Agarwal Talks About His Bond With KL Rahul: 'Somewhere Down The Line, We Challenged For Same Position'

Mayank Agarwal, India’s top-order batsman has opened up on his bond with teammate and friend, KL Rahul, over the years. The boys, who are from the same state, have opened many innings for India and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League.

KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are best friends, it’s no surprise. The boys, who are from the same state, had opened several innings for India and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League. Even if they’re not on the field, the two have a strong bond. Whether it’s lighthearted social media banter or enjoying each other’s success, cricket fans rarely see such friendship.

Their bond is so strong that, despite competing for the same slot in Team India, their mutual adoration stays unaltered. When asked about their link, Mayank, 31, believes that their shared desire to see each other grow strengthens their bond.

“As friends, we have a strong bond. He’s been on my journey, and I’ve been on his. Even though we maybe battled for the same spot down the road, it’s been incredibly good to have that type of camaraderie.”

However, I believe the mindset has always been to assist one another. On Backstage with Boria, Mayank talked about his friendship with Rahul and how it has helped him grow.

In describing Rahul’s disposition, the 31-year-old describes him as a calm and serene individual who is always willing to assist.

“In terms of KL Rahul, he’s always come across as a really calm and cool individual. He’s someone who will undoubtedly provide recommendations to you. He clearly reads and comprehends the situation,” he concluded.

In the IPL 2022, Mayank Agarwal will lead the Punjab Kings:

Mayank Agarwal of the Punjab Kings has been named captain of the squad for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022. Since 2018, Mayank has been a key member of the Punjab Kings. He has previously served as the team’s vice-captain and captained the team for a brief while last season. Punjab Kings (PBKS) play their first game on March 27 against RCB at the DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai.
