MI New York (MINY) captain Kieron Pollard grabbed attention for his unique style in the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) tournament. Kieron Pollard celebrated with a run and a quirky pose after the fall of Andre Russell’s wicket during the match against the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR).
MI New York secured their first win of the ongoing tournament by defeating the Los Angeles Knight Riders with a massive 105-run margin at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Sunday, July 16. The Kieron Pollard-led team successfully defended a modest total of 155 runs in their second match.

The incident occurred in the 10th over of the Los Angeles Knight Riders’ innings when Kieron Pollard dismissed Andre Russell. Pollard bowled a short ball outside off-stump, resulting in Russell attempting a pull shot but ending up edging it to wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran.
The on-field umpire initially ruled in favour of the batting side, but Kieron Pollard referred the decision to the third umpire, who overturned it. This prompted the MINY skipper and his teammates to celebrate the dismissal, emphasizing the importance of Russell’s wicket for them.

I Am Happy With The End Result – Kieron Pollard
Speaking at the post-match presentation, Kieron Pollard expressed his dissatisfaction with the batting performance of his team in the first half of their innings.
“I am happy with the end result but not with our batting performance. Losing 5 wickets in the first 10 overs is not acceptable in franchise cricket.
This is a new tournament and some of the guys are playing at this level for the first time, you have to give them time. The batters have to take time in the powerplay and assess the conditions,” Pollard said.
Kieron Pollard praised the performance of the bowlers and said that they want to carry the momentum into the next match.
“This is done and dusted, we have to come back tomorrow and keep this going. The bowlers stuck to their guns after the first game and delivered,” added Pollard.
